• East London Development Group

Welcome

The East London Development Group of the Motor Neurone Disease Association has the sole aim of serving image of the east London group at workall those in the area who are living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This includes people with MND, their carers, family and friends.

MND is an incurable condition that paralyses the muscles leaving people unable to do the everyday things the rest of us take for granted. Walking, talking and swallowing may become virtually impossible, yet the mind and senses remain virtually intact.

We liaise with health and social care professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and the Medical Profession.

Our Group holds regular support meetings for people living with MND and their carers. These provide an opportunity to meet with other people living with the disease, and to share experiences and ideas. Fundraising and raising awareness are also very important aspects of Group activities, and we organise events throughout the year which are well supported.

East London Development Group is completely run by volunteers. We are always interested in hearing from people who can help with events or who want to get involved with running the Group.

For details of other MND Association Branches and Groups around the country, please contact National Office at or telephone 01604 250505.
