Support Meetings

We hold regular meetings at two locations; YMCA, Romford, and St. Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney.

These are social meetings as well as an opportunity for people affected by MND, their carers and families to meet others in a similar situation. Refreshments are provided and the group are happy to fund transport costs to help people to get to the meetings.

The address is YMCA, Rush Green Road, Romford RM7 0PH – Support Meetings take place every third Wednesday of the month (2 – 4pm).
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer member of our group, you are welcome to come along to any of our meetings. The next meetings here are on the following dates:

19th May,
16th June,
14th July,
no August meeting,
22nd September,
13th October,
10th November,
1st December.

The second MND Association Support Group held at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney, meets on the second Monday of each month (1.30-3.30pm).
These meetings are organised by the MND Association and the Hospice jointly and if anyone would like to attend please ring the Hospice on 020 8525 6030 or Frances Carroll from the MND Association on 0845 3751851 for further information. If people live within the Boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham, Hospice transport can be arranged. The MND Association can provide some financial help with transport from other boroughs within the North East London area.
